Spasticity is caused by a motor disorder characterized by an increase of stretching reflex, as a consequence of an abnormal intraspinal processing of the entrance of sensitive afference and alteration of its regulation by supraspinal centres. This alteration can be secondary to cranioncephalic traumatisms, medullar traumatism injuries, multiple sclerosis and cerebral paralysis.
