Applications are invited from clinical or non-clinical researchers wanting to pursuit research in the field of malignant or non-malignant hematological diseases.

1. Eligibility criterias:  Personal and academic background of candidates and their institutes:

a. Applicants must be an MD or PhD.

b. Applicants must be a member of EHA at the time of application

c. The host mentor must assume responsability and provide guidance fro the research.

d. The sponsoring facility must be an academic institution.  The EHA does not provide overheads.

e. Applicants may be of any nacionality but either the home or host institute must be located within Europe.

f. Movement between institutions and/or countries is encouraged.

2. Topics of Research: Applications will be considered on any aspect of the study of hematology in its broadest sense including all subspecialties and including but not limited to molecular biology and biochemistry, virology, immunology, cell biology, epidemiology and diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

3. Relationship with host institution: The applicant will have discussed the project with the relevant Head of Department (in the host institution), who will provide a letter stating that he/she approves the planned research project and would welcome the applicant in his/her department for a period of 3 years.

4. Funding:  Each grant is for a three-year period.  The fellowship awards will be transferred to the host institution.  The award is intended to cover salary and other expenses (e.g. consumables, travel, and equipment) necessary for pursuit of the research project.  A budget needs to provided as part of the required documents for submission.
