The European Foundation for the Stdy of Diabetes (EFSD) and the Japanese Diabetes Sociery (JDS) open their Reciprocal Travel Research Fellowships Programme for year 2014.

Objective: to encourage collaborative research in the field of diabetes by founding scientific projects from both applicants working in Japan to travel to Europe or its associated countries and also from applicants working in Europe or its associated countries to travel to Japan.

Requirements:

- Applications may be made by any scientist or clinician who has been working in a postdoctoral position no longer than 5 years.

- The host institution must be a recognised research institution and applicants should have demonstrated their ability in the field of diabetes research.

Amount: Up to 4 fellowships of 50,000€ each will be awarded. Budget may include: salaries, travel, sustenance and consumables.

Duration: The project will be 3 to 12 months in length (some extra time allowed to complete a language course)
