ESMO Translational Research Fellowship |
The ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) opens its annual Translational Research Fellowship.
Objective: Comprehensive bench-to-bedside training in translational research, fellows have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in basic cancer research. European centres of excellence serve as host institutes providing the necessary support to develop specific high-quality translational research projects in oncology, and helps fellows gain valuable international experience.
The Translational Research Fellowships are designed to:
-Provide training in translational research in European centres with an international reputation in the field
-Improve career development through collaboration with European institutions of excellence
-Provide the necessary support to develop specific high-quality translational research projects in oncology
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must:
- Be a Full or Junior ESMO member (or apply for membership)
- Be an oncologists with at least 1 year experience in medical, radiation, or surgical oncology
- Be under the age of 40
- Be proficient in English
The candidate’s supervisors in both the host and home institute should preferably be Full ESMO members.
Amount and Duration: 35,000€ for one year, paid in four, quarterly tranches on receipt of a validated report from the Host Mentor.The fellowship must start in the year in which it is awarded. Second year prolongation, including additional 35,000€, upon request and susequent approval.
Host institutes receive 1000€ for administration costs.
