EMBO: Keynote Lectures Funding |
Object: Meeting organizers can apply for funding for an EMBO Member or Associate Members to give a keynote lecture at their major international scientific meeting. This provides participants with an opportunity to find out about the recent research findings from EMBO Members' laboratories.
Conditions of funding:
- Application should be made by the meeting organizer via the online application system.
- Priority will be given to applications received at least 9 months prior to the start of the meeting. The lecture must be given the status of a keynote lecture, featured prominently within the programme and entitled "The EMBO Lecture".
- Funding will only be provided for one speaker per meeting. The EMBO Member must be working and/or be going to an event in an EMBC Member State and resides outside of the host country. The speaker should be introduced at the meeting as an EMBO Member.
- Ensure that the spectrum of speakers and attendees is international in its scope.
Funding scheme: A maximum of 1,000 € (Europe) and 2,000 € (international) to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence costs will be reimbursed to the speaker.
The following costs will not be covered:
- Stipend for the speaker;
- Meeting registration fee;
- Costs towards the general organization of the meeting.
Deadline:
- First internal deadline for applications: February 28th, 2014.
- First official deadline: March 01st, 2014
- Further deadlines for application: June 01st, September 01st and December 1st.
