IBRO Short stay grants for European neuroscientists |
International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) provides funding for research fellowships, travel grants, symposia & workshops, and for scientists returning to their home countries. In addition to this, funding is also provided on a regional level.
InEurope Short Stay Grants fund visits to European institutions by researchers living and working within Europe, so that they can acquire new methods or specific techniques that are necessary for their work.
The aim of the program is to increase intra-European mobility of young researchers by providing grants for short, goal-directed exchanges within European laboratories.
Eligibility
- PhD students and young Post-doctoral fellows
- 35 years of age or less
- Only applicants from the European region will be accepted
- Applications are made online. There are no hard copies of applications. Selections are made several times during the year. Selected applicants will be notified at the end of March, June, September and December. Applications will open approximately one month prior to the selection. Applicants who are not selected in one round of evaluations are eligible to apply for other rounds. Within two weeks of the conclusion of the research activity, laureates are required to send a brief report suitable for posting on the IBRO website. Pictures are always welcome.
Duration and Funding
The duration of such visits is limited to a maximum of four weeks. Funding is for maximum 3000 euros that can be used to cover travel and local expenses.

1st) For selected applicants to be notified by September:
- Internal VHIR deadline: 25th. July 2015
- Official deadline: August 2015
2nd) For selected applicants to be notified by December:
- Internal VHIR deadline: 25th. October 2015
- Official deadline: November 2015
