The Lung Cancer Research Foundation launches its 2016 annual grant. The Lung Cancer Research Foundation’s grant program provides funding for innovative research focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer.
Areas:
1.- Basic science
2.- Translational research
3.- Clinical research
4.- Supportive care
5.- Quality of care/outcomes
Topics:
1.- Prevention and screening for early detection
2.- Identification of new biomarkers and the development of targeted therapies
3.- The development of next-generation chemotherapeutic agents
4.- Supportive measures for people with lung cancer and their families
5.- Quality of care and outcomes research
Eligibility criteria
LCRF provides funds to U.S.-based and international investigators including:
1.- Junior investigators (e.g. graduate students, medical students and postdoctoral fellows)
2.- Young investigators and senior faculty (e.g. assistant, associate or full professors)
3.- Physicians
4.- Nurse researchers
Amount: $150,000 ($75,000 per year)
Duration: 2 years
Ineligible costs:
1.- LCRF will not support institutional indirect/overhead costs
2.- Direct patient care costs that could be reimbursed by other sources will not be covered.
Timeline:
1.- VHIR's internal deadline: 20/06/2016: The application must include at least one letter of support from the applicant’s program director/advisor
2.- Official deadline: July 1, 2016 (11:59pm, US Eastern time)
3.- October 2016: Award decisions announced
4.- November 2016: Projects begin
