Postdoctoral FEBS Long-Term Fellowships
Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) is one of the largest organizations in European life sciences. FEBS seeks to promote, encourage and support biochemistry and molecular biology research. It publishes four scientific journals and funds an Annual Congress, Medals and Prizes, Research Fellowships, Advanced Courses, Workshops, Special Meetings and Travel Grants. FEBS also promotes scientific aid to disadvantaged economies, and action on education, women in science, science and society, and research funding. Long-Term Fellowships are awarded to support long-term visits for the purpose of scientific collaboration or advanced training.
a. Duration: These Fellowships are originally granted for one year and may be renewed for a further year up to a maximum of 3 years.
b. Conditions: Applicants must have a PhD and should normally be scientists with no more than three years of post-doctoral experience. Applicants need to be members of a FEBS Constituent Society, to be working in a laboratory in a FEBS country and to be seeking to work in a laboratory in a different FEBS country. These Fellowships are originally granted for one year and may be renewed for a further year up to a maximum of three years.
c. Amount: The amount of the Fellowship will depend on the cost of living in the country visited and will include travelling expenses for the Fellow and his/her dependants. Travel costs will provide for a second-class rail fare or an economy flight between the place of residence and the host laboratory. Travel costs will not be paid if the applicant is already working at the host institute at the closing date of the call. Assistance for children may also be provided (for 1 child +14% and for 2 or more +28% on annual stipend in 2016). The amount of the Fellowship and of the allowance for children will be determined from time to time by the FEBS Fellowships Committee, in consultation with the FEBS Treasurer.
d. Deadline:
Internal deadline: September 24th, 2017
Official deadline: October 1st, 2017 (17:00pm).
