Bayer HealthCare launches its Grants4Targets Pharmaceuticals 2017 grants.

Aim: to allocate grants for researchers investigating novel drug targets in the fields of Oncology, Gynecology, Cardiology and Hematology to promote innovative therapeutic ideas from basic research into novel drugs.

Areas:

1. Oncology - Focus on oncogenic signaling.

2. Gynecology - Focus on novel treatment options for endometriosis (incl. adenomyosis uteri/endometriosis interna), uterine fibroids (uterine leiomyoma) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

3. Cardiology - Focus on novel approaches to the care of chronic and/or acute pulmonary hypertension & adjacent lung indications, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, ischemic stroke, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, acute lung injury/adult respiratory distress syndrome, cardiorenal syndrome and including kidney and lung diseases.

4. Hematology - Focus on novel, innovative targets for hemophilia, hemoglobinopathies, bone marrow cell mobilization and renewal

Types of grants:

1.- Support Grants: (€5,000-€10,000) for druggable targets that are at a very early stage of discovery.

2.- Focus Grants (€10,000-€125,000) for more mature ideas, e.g. to address specific aspects of a target as a first step towards transferring it to the drug discovery process.

Duration: 6-18 months

Timeline:

- Official deadline (Proposal abstract, description of therapeutic potential of the target and CV and relevant publications): 31st of March 2017

- Project starts: June 2017
