Worldwide Cancer Research 2017 Grant Round |
Aim:
- To support research that might in future help reduce the incidence of cancer or improve cancer survival.
- To support fundamental or translational research into the causes, mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of cancer.
Out of scope:
- Clinical research, including clinical trials, patient care, nursing or healthcare delivery research.
- Other types of applied cancer research such as policy, public health or psychosocial research.
Eligibility criteria:
- The principal investigator must be a suitably qualified researcher (minimum of PhD followed by three years research experience, or equivalent qualification or research experience).
Limitations: Only one application from the same research group will be accepted in any 12 month period (i.e. 12 months must have passed since the last application), unless the Scientific Advisory Committee invites the submission of a revised application in the next round.
Duration: 12 to 36 months
Budget: £250,000 (though most of the three-year grants we award have a budget below £200,000).

- Staff salaries
- Research consumables
- Animals
- Equipment
- Travel
- Other (High cost items or experiments; Fees for external or internal services, such as antibody production, DNA sequencing or statistical support).

Non-eligible costs: OVERHEADS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE COSTS

- VHIR's internal deadline: April 14th 2017
