EuroNanoMed 12th Joint Call 2021 |
Dear Researchers,
We are pleased to inform you that the EuroNanoMed Joint Transnational Call for Proposals (2021) for “European Innovative Research & Technological Development Projects in Nanomedicine” is open until January 21st 2021.
Aim of the call: EuroNanoMed aims (i) to support translational research projects that combine innovative approaches in the field of nanomedicine and (ii) to encourage and enable transnational collaboration between public and private research groups from academia, clinical/public health research or research teams from industrial enterprises (all size). The participation of Medical Doctors and SMEs will be strongly encouraged.
Topics of the call: Project proposals will address multidisciplinary and translational research. Project proposals will need to cover at least one of the following areas that are equal in relevance for this call:
Regenerative medicine
Diagnostics
Targeted delivery systems
Projects should aim to fall between Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3-6, although proposals that fall outside of these levels will also be considered. Furthermore, in order to be realistic and coherent with the characteristics of the call, projects should propose advancements for a maximum of two TRL levels during their lifecycle.
Projects are required to discuss and respond to Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) aspects, including co-creating, co-design and co-production. Projects are required to include a plan to disseminate results/outcomes and how to achieve higher levels of technological readiness.
Duration and budget: In addition to the regular collaborative projects usually funded by the EuroNanoMed Programme that last between 24 - 36 months, the 12th call includes a new type of funding for short collaborative projects with a duration of between 12 to 24 months. The budget available under these pathways is as follows:
Regular collaborative projects: Up to 175.000€ per partner and up to 250.000€ per coordinator (overheads included). An additional 50.000€ could be granted if there is another industrial partner funded by CDTI in the consortium.
Short collaborative projects: Up to 100.000€ per partner and up to 150.000€ per coordinator (overheads included). An additional 50.000€ could be granted if there is another industrial partner funded by CDTI in the consortium.
Budgetary regulations outlined here and in the current EuroNanoMed call text may be subject to change once specific criteria are announced in AES2021 by ISCIII.
Applications for VHIR will usually be submitted via ISCIII. See pages 38-41 of the guidelines for specific conditions for ISCIII applications. Please note that researchers with ongoing EuroNanoMed projects in 2022 cannot apply to the current call unless the current project or the new application is as coordinator.
Other Conditions: Consortia applying to this call will be required to include research group(s) from at least 2 of the following 3 categories:
Academia (research teams working in universities, other higher education institutions or research institutes);
Clinical/public health sector (research teams working in hospitals/public health and/or other health care settings and health organizations). Participation of Medical Doctors is encouraged;
Enterprise (all sizes of private companies). Participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be encouraged.
Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve 3-5 eligible partners from at least 3 different countries participating to the call. The maximum number of partners can be increased from 5 to 7 under certain circumstances ( call text pages 7-10). No more than 2 eligible partners from the same country will be accepted.
Deadlines:
Submission deadline for pre-proposals: January 21st 2021. Please, see attached the pre-proposal application form.
Communication of the results of the pre-proposal assessment (invitation for full proposal): April 27th 2021
Submission deadline of full proposals: June 10th 2021
Communication of the funding decisions to the applicants: October 2021
We’d like to encourage you to participate in this funding opportunity and to contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in submitting a proposal. The International Pre-Award team will oversee the preparation and submission of proposals under this call (preawardinternational@vhir.org).
