The Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation has announced the 8th round for application for a Grand Challenges Explorations grant (GCE)

About: Grand Challenges Explorations (GCE) supports innovative ideas devoted to improve global health.

The topics for round 8 are:

Protect crop plants from biotic stresses form field to market

Design new approaches to optimize immunization systems

Explore new solutions for global health priority areas

Explore nutrition for health growh of infants and children

Apply synthetic biology to global health challenges

Mechanism: Initial grants will be US $100,000 each, and projects showing promise will have the opportunity to receive additional funding of up to US $1 million. Full descriptions of the new topics and application instructions are available at: www.grandchallenges.org/gce
