The two main objectives of the group are:
- to reduce the myocardial injury induced by ischaemia and reperfusion through a better understanding of the underlining mechanisms and the design of new therapeutic approaches, and
- to repair the damaged myocardium by elucidating the mechanisms of stem cell homing, proliferation and differentiation and exploitation of their therapeutic potential.
